COMMITTED AND INTELLIGENT MASTER PLANNING

BOW INTERCHANGE

The intersection at Bow is both a famous place in London (the location of Bow Church, the sound of whose bells marked the limit of London) and a nightmare road intersection: three grade separations and a roundabout in a very tight historical urban fringe and a canal.

The regeneration of east London brought by the Olympics and a series of fatal cycling accidents were the drivers for a new approach, which recognised the new urban role of the surrounding and created a space for pedestrians, cyclists and urban activities to serve the area of the future, Commissioned by Transport for London.
