Advisory design support role to Charnwood Council in the negotiation for a new strategic town extension at the edge of Leicester aiming to adopt Garden Suburb principles.
This is part of the renewed interest in the UK on the liveability and community principles promoted by the Garden City Movement a hundred years ago. The work, led by Wei Yang and Partners, included the preparation of a design guide to identify the essential elements that constitute a community orientated Garden Suburb, over and above the principles of good design.
